  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 68 tbsp ice-cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Gradually add ice-cold water until dough forms. Divide into two discs and chill for at least an hour.
  4. Toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Roll out one dough disc into a circle. Place in pie dish and fill with apple mixture.
  6. Roll out second dough disc and cover apples. Seal edges and cut steam vents.
  7. Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until crust is golden brown.
