  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients: finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. Layer half of the sliced onion at the bottom of the crockpot. Place chicken breasts on top and cover with remaining onion.
  3. Pour BBQ sauce over chicken, sprinkle brown sugar and cayenne pepper.
  4. Drizzle apple cider vinegar and Worcestershire sauce over everything.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until chicken is tender.
  6. Shred cooked chicken with two forks and mix back into the sauce before serving.
