Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare Dough: Warm the milk until lukewarm (about 110°F). Combine with yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. 2. Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center; add yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Stir until sticky dough forms.
  3. 3. Knead Dough: On a floured surface, knead dough for about 5 minutes until smooth but slightly tacky.
  4. 4. First Rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. 5. Roll & Fill: Punch down dough and roll on floured surface into a rectangle (½ inch thick). Spread softened butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. 6. Shape Rolls: Roll tightly from one end to another; slice into 12 equal pieces. Place on greased baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. 7. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
