- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups high-quality tomato sauce
- 2 tsp dried basil
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 large egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef; season with salt, pepper, basil, and oregano.
- Combine cooked meat with tomato sauce in the skillet and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with the egg, half of the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- In a baking dish, create layers starting with meat sauce, then noodles, followed by the ricotta mixture and mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Cover with foil (shiny side down) and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top, and bake uncovered for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
