Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large prawns (fresh or thawed, shell-on)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt (full-fat)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 inch ginger root (grated)
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh cilantro leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, cayenne pepper, cumin powder, coriander powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  2. Add the prawns and toss until they are well coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400Β°F). If using wooden skewers, soak them in water to prevent burning.
  4. Grill the marinated prawns on skewers or directly on the grill for about 2-3 minutes per side until they are opaque and slightly charred.
  5. Remove from grill and let rest briefly before serving. Garnish with chopped cilantro and an extra squeeze of lemon if desired.
