Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
  • 2 cups whipped topping (non-dairy or heavy cream)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, and water until smooth. Pour batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans.
  4. Once cooled, poke holes in the top of each cake layer using a fork or skewer. Pour half of the sweetened condensed milk over the first layer, followed by half of the chocolate syrup and whipped topping. Repeat with the second layer.
  5. Top with remaining whipped topping and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Chill in the fridge for at least one hour before serving.
