  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ¼ cup sour cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your cabbage leaves by boiling a large pot of salted water. Blanch the whole head of cabbage for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  2. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined.
  3. Lay each softened cabbage leaf flat and place 2-3 tablespoons of filling at the base. Roll tightly while tucking in the sides.
  4. In a baking dish, pour half the tomato sauce. Arrange the rolls seam-side down and cover with the remaining sauce.
  5. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 45 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving. Add sour cream on top if desired.
