  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup plain full-fat yogurt
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads or flatbreads
  • 1 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 1 cup sliced cucumbers
  • ½ cup tahini sauce or garlic sauce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, crushed garlic, cumin, paprika, turmeric, salt, and pepper. Add chicken thighs and coat well. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  2. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear marinated chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Remove chicken from heat and let rest for about 5 minutes.
  4. Slice fresh vegetables while chicken rests. Warm pita bread slightly in a dry skillet.
  5. Slice rested chicken into thin strips. Layer on pita with vegetables and drizzle with sauce.
