Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped (or 1 tbsp dried basil)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pasta water by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the spaghetti until al dente according to package instructions; stir occasionally.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add red pepper flakes to the skillet, stirring for about 30 seconds.
