  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and pat dry.
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch with salt and pepper; dredge each chicken piece until fully coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat; fry chicken until golden brown and crispy.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together soy sauce, orange juice, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, and sesame oil.
  5. Remove fried chicken from the pan; add the sauce mixture to the pan and stir until combined.
  6. If desired, add red pepper flakes for extra heat. Return the chicken to the pan and toss until coated; let simmer for 5 minutes.
