Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Poke each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape.
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Baking
- Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and a fork easily pierces the flesh.
Serving
- Remove the potatoes from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Cut a slit in the top of each potato and fluff the insides with a fork.
- Add butter, sour cream, cheese, and green onions as desired.
Notes
For extra crispy skin, you can bake the potatoes directly on the oven rack without a baking sheet.
