Cooking the Rice
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
Flavoring the Rice
- Fluff the rice with a fork and add lime juice, lime zest, chopped cilantro, and salt.
- Gently mix until well combined, adjusting salt to taste.
Notes
Cilantro lime rice can be served warm or at room temperature. It pairs well with grilled meats, tacos, or as a base for burrito bowls.
