Method
Cooking the Rice
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
Flavoring the Rice
- Fluff the rice with a fork and add the lime juice, lime zest, and chopped cilantro.
- Gently mix until well combined.
- Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cumin or garlic powder to the rice while cooking.
