Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk warm
  • 1 package active dry yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Filling
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
Icing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Prepare the Filling
  1. In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Spread softened butter over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.
Shape the Rolls
  1. Roll the dough tightly into a log, starting from one edge.
  2. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  3. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Rolls
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake the rolls for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Prepare the Icing
  1. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Serve
  1. Drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, add nuts or raisins to the filling if desired.
